Lavinia’s Framing is an institution in San Miguel. For more than 30 years, Lavinia Ruiz – founder and director of Lavinia’s Framing – has been at the center of the vibrant community that has made San Miguel a recognized artistic hotspot in Mexico and beyond. Lavinia and her dedicated team of professionals have framed works by many of San Miguel’s most recognized artists as well as the work of other clients of all sorts. From custom frame production, acrylic boxes, protection of work, restoration, conservation of 2 and 3D pieces, Lavinia’s Framing is the go-to option when it comes to protecting your precious works of art, documents, and more.

On August 12, Lavinia inaugurated her new, much larger, space at Calzada de la Estación #151. The new studio is a massive venue with a coffee shop at the front and a large showroom and workspace in the inside of the building. The event was hosted by Lavinia herself, who gave a speech for the exclusive invitees and thanked them for their support over the years.

Lavinia also graciously donated a piece of art by the late Toller Cranston to benefit the work of Caminos de Agua – a local NGO working on regional water issues. Allie Reilling, Director of Technology at Caminos de Agua, gave a short talk to the whole room regarding the water quality and scarcity challenges facing San Miguel and greater Mexico as well as the work the NGO has been doing to help mitigate these issues for nearly 10 years. All the proceeds from the silent auction will go directly to fund water solutions for communities most impacted by our local water problems.
